Assistant Director of Music

Taylor Selvey is a passionate and dynamic music educator who is dedicated to inspiring students and building strong community connections through the transformative power of music. Selvey earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2017. He immersed himself in the university’s vibrant music scene, performing in choral ensembles, two operas, and as a featured soloist with the Edmond Community Chorale.

Following graduation, Selvey began his teaching career at Minco Public Schools, where he infused new energy into the K-12 music program, preserving the beloved traditions while introducing exciting new concert experiences. In 2019, he moved to Carl Albert Middle School, where his choirs consistently earned Superior ratings at competitions, reflecting his dedication to musical excellence. Alongside his middle school work, Selvey co-directed the Carl Albert High School Varsity Choir, which earned the distinguished honor of being selected as an OkMEA Honor Group in 2021. In 2024, Selvey took on the role of Associate Director at Edmond North High School, where he co-teaches several choirs and is privileged to lead the Treble Chorus. He is eager to support the continued growth of the choir program and help shape the musical journeys of the talented students at Edmond North.

A strong advocate for music education, Selvey is committed to providing the highest quality choral instruction for his students and strives to be a positive, inspiring leader who nurtures their musical and personal growth. He is an active member of both the American Choral Directors Association and the National Association for Music Education.

Selvey resides in Yukon with his wife, Chelsi, their daughter, Hadley, and their miniature dachshund, Ellie. His outlook on life is shaped by the love, creativity, and laughter that surround him at home, reminding him of what truly matters each day.
